Kitty Came Home Katrina Weber a.k.a. creator of Kitty Came Home The devoted owner behind the Kitty Came Home range is Adelaide-based Katrina Weber. Weber began Kitty Came Home in 2004 with the ‘vintage clutch’ and today is pleased to see her growing product range and distribution Australia-wide. After her studies, where she trained as a contemporary jeweller, Weber undertook a residency at the prestigious Gray Street Workshop, a considerable achievement in Australian jewellery practices. Today she makes her own range of contemporary jewellery, independent of Kitty, and exhibits in contemporary gallery spaces. Weber’s Kitty-ethos involves the creation of products that give back to our world. With her mere two hands, in comparison to Kitty’s four paws, Weber outsources work locally, particularly to community organisations. As well, the Kitty Came Home range is made with consideration to our environment, using predominantly recycled materials that simultaneously reinvent cast aside snippets of domesticity. While Weber is certainly the owner behind Kitty Came Home, anyone who has spent time with cats knows that they are independent beings that like to explore the world themselves and make their own tales |
